Why Retail Is Different From An Office Job

There are those of us who work in retail, and the rest of the world that has a NORMAL job.  People who work in a office just don’t fully comprehend the idea of working short-staffed, under constant pressure and worst of all, not having a water cooler to gather around.  (In fact, there’s usually not enough employees to gather.)

The first one of these is similar to a joke I always used when interviewing–my employees would say “Did you hire that guy?” and I’d say “I asked him if he could walk and chew gum and not necessarily at the same time.  He said yes, so yeah, he’s hired.”

Sadly, I’ve used “If you have time to lean, you have time to clean” a few times, but it was NOT my invention.
