Of all the holidays, Valentines Day is the funniest to work in retail.   It’s amazing how many people wait until literally the last minute.  5-6 PM on the 14th is a Black Friday type crowd of mainly men grabbing at chocolate heart boxes, cards and whatever else they can find to give to their soulmate.  I’ve seen guys buying a 6-pack of beer and a gift bag, and even a box of condoms and gift wrap.

I have a dog and love her dearly, but it’s amazing to me that people will spend an estimated $703 million dollars on Valentines gifts for their pooches.
