I was in Ralphs the other day and their express lane signs said “About 15 Items Or Less.”    Now granted, if someone comes through with 16 or 17 items I don’t think anyone is going to complain (well, there are some customers I’ve had that would…) but are they trying to avoid any arguments or do they think that most people can’t count up to 15?      Next time I’m going to tell them my bill was $54.97 but I’m going to pay them “about $50.00” and see how that goes over.   C’mon Ralphs, man up a bit.
