Sorry but have to side with Walmart on this one. My company has the same policy. The life of an employee (yes, even one that works at Walmart) is worth more than the possible recovery from any shoplifter. In my career I’ve had one guy sent to the hospital after being hit in the head with a bottle of vodka he was trying to recover and another who had a knife pulled on him after chasing a thief several blocks into Leisure World. (You know who you are, George.) I myself almost had my arm broken trying to stop a kid stealing sunglasses. Company has a policy, guy knew it, guy broke it. He deserved to get fired.
