{"id":697,"date":"2015-04-17T22:36:28","date_gmt":"2015-04-18T05:36:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=697"},"modified":"2015-04-19T08:19:36","modified_gmt":"2015-04-19T15:19:36","slug":"walmart-employee-accused-of-stealing-240k-from-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=697","title":{"rendered":"Walmart employee accused of stealing $240K from store"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the years I&#8217;ve had a lot of trusted employees steal from my store. \u00a0I&#8217;ve always subscribed to the 5\/90\/5 rule&#8211;meaning 5% of people will steal from you no matter what, 5% would NEVER steal from you no matter what, and the other 90% might if you give them a motive and opportunity. \u00a0 I managed to \u00a0keep most of the 90% happy and motivated and created an environment where employees didn&#8217;t feel they needed to steal and also that they would get caught if they did. \u00a0 But I did have some of the 5% and it was always tough when you had money missing and it turned out to be someone that you trusted.<\/p>\n<p>I never, however, had anyone take anywhere close to the amount of money that this lady took from Walmart over an 18-month period. \u00a0$8,000 in a day? \u00a0That&#8217;s insane, even considering how much volume Walmart does it&#8217;s incredible that it took so long to notice money missing. \u00a0 Pretty amazing that she managed to get another job after being caught \u00a0(background check, anyone?) but I have a strong feeling she&#8217;s going to be doing some serious jail time.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zxtlCrCid5M<\/p>\n<p><em>DECATUR, Texas (April 16, 2015) \u2014 A Texas Walmart employee is accused of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2015\/04\/15\/wal-mart-employee-accused-of-stealing-nearly-240k\/25820299\/\">stealing $240,000 from the store<\/a> where she worked.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Police arrested Nacina Walker, 50, in what one detective calls the biggest theft case he\u2019s ever handled, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2015\/04\/15\/wal-mart-employee-accused-of-stealing-nearly-240k\/25820299\/\">according to WFAA<\/a>. The thefts happened between January 2013 and October 2014. According to investigators, Walker created fake returns and then pocketed the eventual refunds.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>She told investigators it started with small amounts. When she realized the store hadn\u2019t noticed $50 missing here and $100 missing there, the amounts grew.
