{"id":648,"date":"2015-04-09T09:12:32","date_gmt":"2015-04-09T16:12:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=648"},"modified":"2015-04-09T09:12:32","modified_gmt":"2015-04-09T16:12:32","slug":"pharmacy-business-is-still-booming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=648","title":{"rendered":"Pharmacy Business Is Still Booming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/chartgraphic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-650\" src=\"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/chartgraphic-300x170.jpg\" alt=\"chartgraphic\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/re-tales.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/chartgraphic-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/re-tales.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/chartgraphic.jpg 410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So Rite-Aid continues to do well:<\/p>\n<div><em>Shares of Rite Aid were up slightly Thursday morning by 3% to more than $8.85 in early morning trading, following the company&#8217;s report of March results.\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em>For the four weeks ended March 28, overall <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">same-store sales increased 4.3%,<\/span> with a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">front-end same-store sales increase of 2.5% and pharmacy same-store sales increase of 5.1%.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>And Walgreens is on fire, although <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/business\/breaking\/chi-walgreens-closing-20150409-story.html\" target=\"_blank\">they&#8217;re closing 200 stores<\/a>\u00a0(while adding 200 more):<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em>Walgreens Boots Alliance on Thursday reported quarterly earnings for the first time as a merged company, posting $21 billion in sales across its U.S. retail operations, up 7.4%, for its second quarter ended Feb. 28.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><em>Total sales in comparable stores increased 6.9% compared with the same quarter a year ago. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Retail comparable-store sales increased 2.5%<\/span> in the second quarter with improved retail product margins compared with last year\u2019s second quarter.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em>Pharmacy sales, which accounted for 64.4% of division sales in the quarter, increased 10.1% compared with the year-ago quarter, while <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">pharmacy sales in comparable stores increased 9.7%<\/span>.
