{"id":309,"date":"2015-02-09T01:00:53","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T09:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=309"},"modified":"2015-02-08T19:17:42","modified_gmt":"2015-02-09T03:17:42","slug":"retail-sales-then-and-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=309","title":{"rendered":"Retail Sales (Then and Now)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/retailnewsalert.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/top-10-list.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"184\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a look at the top 10 retailers (by U.S. Sales dollars) in 2008 and last year. \u00a08 of the 10 are the same although some have moved up or down.<\/p>\n<p>Some observations:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;WalMart is still the king, although they have declined.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;CVS has lost sales and Walgreens gained more sales. One up, one down.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Costco has shown the biggest dollar increase. \u00a0Americans love their club stores.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;SuperValu had the biggest percentage and ranking drop, probably due to their selling off stores.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Sears also dropped significantly (almost 50%) and was the other company to drop out of the top 10 (and way out, kind of like the company is on the way out&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Safeway &#8220;climbed&#8221;
