It’s amazing how sometimes you do something nice for a customer and then they have the audacity to ask for more. \u00a0Last night this woman shopped our nylon section, which is being re-branded or completely redone because 90% of the items are on clearance from 25-75% off. \u00a0 She brings up about 5 pair to the cashier, and one of them doesn’t scan at 75% off–because it’s not one of the items on clearance (and clearly labeled as such.) \u00a0The cashier tells her to wait and he’ll go check the price, but instead of having him leave a line of customers over a few bucks, I tell him to let it go and he manually takes $5.00 off for her.<\/p>\n

10 minutes later she’s back, and comes up to me and says we ripped her off because one of the other pairs was 75% off and only came up 25% off. \u00a0I scan it and tell her that 25% off is the correct price, but she doesn’t believe me so I escort her back to the nylon section and show her that the item was indeed one of the 25% off ones. \u00a0She continues to argue “The signs are confusing etc.” and I then say, “Look, the other pair you got were full price but I let you have it so we gave you $5.00. \u00a0Let’s not argue about another dollar, OK?” \u00a0 \u00a0She sheepishly agrees and leaves. \u00a0What I should have done was bring her back there and say “Oh, I just noticed that the other pair wasn’t on sale since you dragged me back here, so now you owe US $5.00. \u00a0Pay up, you cheap whiner!” \u00a0 \u00a0 So customers, when you are getting something for practically free, please don’t insist on getting more. \u00a0That is all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
