\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Back in the 80’s, Sav-on was acquired by the parent company of Osco Drugs and many of their stores were rebranded as Osco. \u00a0 They soon learned that the word “Asco” in Spanish (pronounced the same) means “disgust” and after realizing how many people in California spoke Spanish, they quickly decided that was a mistake and went back to being Sav-On. \u00a0 I wonder how much it cost them to replace the neon signs twice! \u00a0These products, however, have even worse names…<\/p>\n

In Iran, where this detergent is manufactured, that word means \u201csnow.\u201d Outside of Iran, where this detergent is sold, it calls forth something rather less pristine and redolent.<\/em><\/p>\n

4. \u201cIT TAKES A TOUGH MAN TO MAKE A TENDER CHICKEN.\u201d<\/em><\/h4>\n

When you translate Perdue Chicken\u2019s classic slogan to Spanish, it means something different: It takes a, well, hard man to make a chicken affectionate.<\/em><\/p>\n

In the Georgian language, the iPhone\u2019s personal assistant software is a rude word for cock. And no, we\u2019re not talking about a rooster.<\/em><\/p>\n

8. SHITO<\/em><\/h4>\n

On these Chinese-made honey bean chips, the \u201cet\u201d after \u201cPuke\u201d is unfortunately obscured by the packaging design.<\/em><\/p>\n

10. CHLEB SEMEN<\/em><\/h4>\n

OK, admittedly, perhaps only 14-year-old boys should think this type of Polish bread\u2014which means, literally, \u201cbread with seeds\u201d\u2014is funny.<\/em><\/p>\n

11. MEGAPUSSI<\/em><\/h4>\n
