{"id":770,"date":"2015-05-22T07:18:15","date_gmt":"2015-05-22T14:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=770"},"modified":"2015-05-22T22:18:43","modified_gmt":"2015-05-23T05:18:43","slug":"retail-apocalypse-major-us-chains-closing-6000-stores-nationwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=770","title":{"rendered":"Retail Apocalypse: Major US Chains Closing 6,000 Stores Nationwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/img0.mxstatic.com\/wallpapers\/d9a95bd658c841cdae3fa392780c9152_large.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"336\" height=\"189\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The author of this article which appeared in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthandaction.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Truth &amp; Action<\/a>\u00a0took a list of planned retail closings and ties it to fear of Jade Helm, riots and economic collapse. \u00a0 He uses a list which has &#8220;more than 6,000 store closings&#8221; planned.<\/p>\n<p>Classic example of &#8220;There are two sides to every story.&#8221; \u00a0 I found a list of planned OPENINGS on line, \u00a0and even after taking out the companies that including global openings (such as McDonalds, who is opening 1,000 stores globally&#8211;you&#8217;d have to assume a lot of those are in the US) it came up to 6,934 stores opening as well. \u00a0 \u00a0My list is at the bottom of his article.<\/p>\n<p>While there definitely are a lot of brick and mortar retailers scaling down and\/or closing, it is mostly due to the dollars being shifted to internet purchasing and not a pending &#8220;economic collapse.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One side note&#8211;Walgreens is on the list with 200 planned openings but no sign of CVS or Rite-Aid. \u00a0 Perhaps that&#8217;s because they are spending all of their money <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2015\/05\/21\/cvs-health-buys-omnicare\/27702707\/\" target=\"_blank\">buying pharmacy service providers for 12.9 billion.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Our government has been preparing for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthandaction.org\/pentagon-prepping-mass-civil-breakdown\/\">massive civil unrest<\/a> and many fear that the coming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthandaction.org\/operation-jade-helm-massive-military-drill-across-7-states-unconventional-warfare\/\">Jade Helm<\/a> operation is simply a pretense for its preparation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthandaction.org\/cia-insider-darkest-economic-period-in-our-nations-history-is-looming\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">economic collapse coming this year<\/a>?<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"quote-2\">\n<blockquote><p><strong>Major U.S. retailers have announced the closing of more than 6,000 stores from coast to coast. The list includes only those retailers which have announced plans to close more than 10 outlets this year and next.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For example, 1,784 Radio Shack stores are vanishing, 400 of the Office Depot\/Office Max chain by 2016, and 340 Dollar Tree\/Family Dollar stores.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The growing list of stores getting shuttered coincides with the decline in discretionary consumer spending over the past six months.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cExpect to see more storefronts closed at malls across the country,\u201d one retail watcher told WND. \u201cIt\u2019s getting ugly out there.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Another factor, the source said, is that Americans\u2019 credit is maxed out \u2013 a problem that will impact holiday season sales later this year. Add the demand of rising taxes, housing and health-insurance costs and you\u2019ve got a formula for belt-tightening across the board.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Expected to be hit hardest by the trend are poorer and lower-middle class neighborhoods.
