{"id":2414,"date":"2018-06-02T20:56:55","date_gmt":"2018-06-03T03:56:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=2414"},"modified":"2018-06-02T20:56:55","modified_gmt":"2018-06-03T03:56:55","slug":"walmart-revamps-employee-dress-code","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=2414","title":{"rendered":"Walmart Revamps Employee Dress Code"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lf.blueconic.net\/rest\/contentStores\/05adcc97-3e1b-4ac3-8b33-333c045c093a\/items\/588608\/image?etag=1527956303340&amp;width=265&amp;height=199\" width=\"166\" height=\"124\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Wow, the retail world is turning upside down.\u00a0 \u00a0First Walmart gives back a lot of their tax break money to the employees in the form of pay increases, and CVS has now done the same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Walmart is doing something else to keep and attract new employees&#8211;revamping their dress code.\u00a0 Employees are now free to wear jeans of any color, shirts of their choice and even the managers are going to be allowed to wear sneakers.<\/p>\n<p>How times have changed.\u00a0 When I first started in retail, the managers wore dress shirts and ties, nice slacks and dress shoes.\u00a0 In fact, ALL of the male employees did.\u00a0 Females were not allowed to wear slacks, everyone&#8217;s hair had to be clean-cut, normal colors and you could forget about it if you had a visible tattoo or piercing.\u00a0 \u00a0The theme was &#8220;You&#8217;re in the health care business, so dress as if you are working in a doctor&#8217;s office.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, the ties went away, females started wearing pants, later on the dress shirts were replaced with company polo shirts and all sorts of hair styles, piercings and tattoos showed up.\u00a0 \u00a0Now, we&#8217;re evolving to the point of &#8220;You&#8217;re in retail and we need someone to work here, so dress as if you are sitting in your living room.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/drugstorenews.com\">Drug Store News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Walmart kicked off its 48th annual shareholder\u2019s meeting on Wednesday with an announcement that drew cheers from the audience, which included thousands of associates from around the globe.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Under new guidelines that go into effect on June 4, the retailer\u2019s employees across all 4,700 stores in the U.S. are now free to wear jeans \u2014 of any color \u2014 along with shirts of any color or pattern. In another change, management is now free to join hourly employees and wear sneakers at work. (The chain\u2019s iconic vest and name badge will remain as is.)
