{"id":1504,"date":"2015-12-26T09:51:23","date_gmt":"2015-12-26T17:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=1504"},"modified":"2015-12-26T09:51:23","modified_gmt":"2015-12-26T17:51:23","slug":"forget-about-christmas-lets-move-on-to-valentines-day-and-easter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/re-tales.net\/?p=1504","title":{"rendered":"Forget About Christmas: Let\u2019s Move On To Valentine\u2019s Day And Easter!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Christmas is over so it&#8217;s time to move on! \u00a0 Valentine&#8217;s Day is right around the corner. \u00a0Well, not really, but it is the next holiday from a retail standpoint, unless you count the champagne and noisemaker displays put out for New Years.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s always some poor sucker who has to start setting the Valentines candy to fill the empty Christmas aisles, and in the past it&#8217;s always been ME. \u00a0If I had a dollar for all the times I&#8217;ve heard &#8220;Valentine&#8217;s ALREADY?&#8221;, \u00a0I&#8217;d be retired by now. \u00a0(It&#8217;s also usually followed by &#8220;You&#8217;ve got to be kidding me!&#8221; or &#8220;We just recovered from Christmas!&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>This shelf of Valentine\u2019s Day-themed cakes was seen at a\u00a0SuperTarget. I bet those Conversation Heart cakes don\u2019t even taste anything like chalk. \u00a0I wonder how many customers are aware of how many preservatives are packed into these things to keep them sellable for 7 weeks or so.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10226555\" src=\"https:\/\/consumermediallc.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/12\/valentine_cakes.jpg?w=680&amp;h=628\" alt=\"valentine_cakes\" width=\"680\" height=\"628\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a\u00a0display of Easter candy at a Stop &amp; Shop. \u00a0At some point about 5 years ago, it was decided that since people love Cadbury Eggs so much, why wait until Easter to sell them? \u00a0So they started coming in at the same time as the Valentine&#8217;s candy and yes, people bought them. They bought them so much, in fact, that soon we were also getting in Peeps, Reese&#8217;s Eggs and so on and we built an entire endcap of Easter candy&#8211;in DECEMBER.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10226556\" src=\"https:\/\/consumermediallc.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/12\/eastercandy.jpg?w=680\" alt=\"eastercandy\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The worst part is, that by the time Easter finally rolls around, the Cadbury Eggs are usually sold out and there will be people asking &#8220;How can you be out of Cadbury Eggs?
